The Mason Mighty was designed from the ground up to be a wholly different bicycle. By borrowing design cues from the best parts of several different genres of cycling we hope to have created a bicycle with illimitable potential; hence the name.
Today’s cyclist is apt to have several machines in his or her arsenal: a race bike, a grocery-getter or townie, and maybe something for light- or even heavily-loaded touring. The Mighty cannot do all these things perfectly, but it can do them all comfortably. It is designed to carry a load - both front and rear - with a slight bias towards the front so that the rider can see her cargo. The extra room in the fork and rear triangle allow for large tires to smooth out rough terrain, and fenders to keep everything dry. If you strip all these “accessories” off, you are left with an incredibly light, high-quality, brand-name (Reynolds 631 or 520) steel frameset perfect for whipping around the city or countryside in a genteel and fashionable manner. If the discerning cyclist needs more than one bicycle, he might as well own two of these.

Classic lugged design with an eye towards modern technology and comfort
Same as above, but made out of Reynolds 631 air hardened tubing, and with an incredibly tasteful two-tone finish
Hand cut, mitered, and brazed from stainless steel tubing. Do you like reclaimed wood and bright colors? If you can draw it, we can build it. Also check back for special edition one-off racks.
My favorite bar-end shifter for simplicity's sake. Smooth micro-ratcheting action feels like the old Suntour powershifters, and works with every combination of derailleur out there (update: except for SRAM rear derailleurs…).
Great for both linear pull AND disc brakes: that's why we chose them.
(set includes front, rear, and 160mm rotors)
Tektro's new disc brakes were designed for use on cyclocross bikes, however we find them exceptionally friendly for road and touring use. We currently don't stock the 140mm rotor - our sets come with 160mm rotors for both the front and rear. When you're riding with a heavy load, you'll thank us. (we also stock replacement pads for these. If you need them, ask.)
Classic drop bars with smooth lines and a smoother ride. Works great with Dia-Compe bar-ends and the RL520 levers (pictured).
Super comfy city bars. ø = 22.2mm (Careful, bar ends don't fit this spec; you must use mountain bike specs for shifters and brakes)
Economical steel sweptback upright handle bars that work like a time machine. With a little work this just fit bar-end shifters - ID is 19.4mm.
Used frequently in conjuction with mustache bars. extension = 60mm; rise = 30º, length 180mm
Used frequently on Dutch bikes, this stem is extremely comfortable for an upright seating position that brings the bars to you. extension = 39mm; rise = 30º
For those who long for the convenient adjustability of a quill, but don't want to get rid of their fancy threadless stem.
218mm, melt forged aluminum alloy. It looks pretty classy.
300mm, melt forged aluminum alloy. Get up there.
Both front and rear have good coverage and look dang classy. Please specify for 700c or 26" wheels. Best for widths under 40c.
Extra wide fenders fit up to 2" tires. Please specify for 700c or 26" wheels.
For the do-it-yourselfer. If you know the ways of the torch, we are happy to sell you some tabs so you can bend your own and braze it as you see fit.
We reccomend using nickel-silver for this. Tabs are waterjet cut, and then tumbled lightly for finishing.
If you want a mirror finish, polish them yourself.
(comes in set of four - two large and two small.)
We stock a wide array of parts: from Tektro's Lyra disc brakes, to hammered fender kit, to Dia-Compe's amazingly smooth Silver bar-end shifters. Please email for requests. As a manufacturer we can source almost anything and enjoy cooperating with customer's on their ideal builds.
